FOUR SIMPLE STEPS
How to Prepare Mate
Preparing mate is simple. Follow these four steps, then adjust the strength and temperature to your taste.

Step 1
Fill the gourd
Fill the gourd about two thirds full with Sherba. Leave enough room for the leaves to expand and for easy refills.

Step 2
Shake and create a slope
Cover the top, shake gently, then tilt the gourd to create a slope and an open space on one side.

Step 3
Moisten and insert
Add a small splash of cool water to the lower side. Wait briefly, then insert the bombilla and keep it still.

Step 4
Pour, sip, and refill
Pour water at 70 to 80°C into the same lower side. Sip through the bombilla and refill while the flavor lasts.
